Strawberry Twizzlers 2009 Launch

Hershey's decided it was time to relaunch the Twizzlers brand this year, and so did we. Celebrating it's 10 year return, we wanted to give the viewers some eye candy. It's purely fun, upbeat and a little bit twisty.

NEO CON NEW YORK, an exhibition

Alway an interesting show, as we repost and spread the word.

17 Frost presents NEO CON NEW YORK, an exhibition of collaborative installations by the Neo-Con collective [Aakash Nihalani, Ellis G., Poster Boy]. The collective consists of artists that utilize ephemeral mediums to create public art, focusing on neo-contextualizing the mundane. Their works, on and off the street, possess urgent relevance to modern societal contradictions and conflagrations, confronting the humanness of discomfort and dissatisfaction with typical, routine, existence.

Opening Reception for NEO CON NEW YORK will be March 21st, 2009, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at 17 Frost Gallery, located at 17 Frost Street between Union Avenue and Lorimer Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Off to Work We Go.

ArnoldNYC just completed a new Hershey Kisses commercial. Inspired by the song, "off to work we go", the spot follows a single hershey kiss and it's journey through a magical factory, from creation to it's demise. Good family fun!

The CBS Wall

Came across this on Neu Black today. It's a nice segment on Lou Dorfsman and the CBS Wall. There is one thing he says a that the end that really strikes me. Especially with how money conscious and bland advertising and commercial design is becoming due to the economy and the ridiculous amounts of 'Middle American' focus group testing.

Ad Songs of the Year

Yesterday, Ad Age published an article claiming what they felt were the top songs used in an ad this year. Somewhat surprising (not because of the musical talent, but for the lack of any media push), our spot for Timex iControl using the Liars, "clear island" was rated amongst the top five.

5. LIARS: "CLEAR ISLAND"

Arnold Worldwide took the fiery-orange waveform of a Liars track and made a runner sprint through it as it explodes around him. The band chants in the background with a long, droning chord, and the relentless intensity is only broken by a few dime-turning guitar breaks. It's not the stuff of hook-laden "modern hard rock," and the audacious choice makes for the most memorable watch commercial we've ever seen.
